Mastitis – Minor Flair up Uterine Infection – Post Calving
  • Aloe Vera – 10oz. liquid or 8oz. Aloe Pellets orally
  • 5 cc CEG in vulva 2x daily for 2-3 days
  • Poke Oil on udder 2x daily for 2-3 days
  • 5 days of 5 cc Caulophyllum in vulva and then infuse 135 cc Aloe and 5 cc CEG Tincture. Repeat in 3-4 days or as needed
Mastitis – Acute Toxic Silent Heats
  • IV Glucose (or Dextrose) with 10 cc CEG IV on first day
  • 10oz. Wellness Tonic drench 2x daily

  • Skip 10 days and then repeat above treatment for 3 more days

Ketosis Dry Cow
Mild or Ketosis prevention severly nervous – always IV Glucose or Dextrose with treatment below

  • Drench 10oz. Wellness Tonic 2x daily
  • 1-2 lb molasses on feed
  • Lycopodium Homeopathy – 10 pills 2x daily for 3 days
  • Old/fat cows – either Burdock Root Tincture or Tonic Tincture 5 cc 2x daily for 7 days
  • Check all high cell count or mastitis cows after 7 days of being dry. If problems, treat like high cell count cow, leaving ABC Relief tube in
  • 2-3 weeks before freshening, start premilking until calving. If bad, use Acute treatment protocol
Udder Edema Pneumonia
  • 2 Comfort Boluses orally 2x daily for 2-3 days or to effect can be used before calving
  • Poke Oil liberally on udder – pre and post calving
  • Apis Mel – 10 pills 2x daily pre and post calving
  • CEG – in vulva or under tongue – 2-4 cc 2x daily
  • 1oz. Aloe liquid per 100 lb 2x daily. Drench orally
  • Coughing animals – LT Soln or OLS 2-4 cc under tongue or in vulva 2x daily

 Prevention:

  • 4oz. Aloe Pellets for 3 days before moving if possible

Treatment:

  • OLS or LT Soln, 5 cc 2x daily under tongue

Retained Afterbirth Scours
  • At 48 hours put in 2 Fresh Cow Boluses. Repeat for 2-3 days or as needed
  • At 48 hours infuse over Fresh Cow Boluses the following: 150 cc of Aloew Vera and 12 cc of First Step. Add water to 500 cc OR 150 cc Aloe Vera and 5 cc CEG and 5 cc Caulophyllum. Repeat either infusion for 2 more days and then as needed. When placenta falls out, infuse 1-2x more
  • Calf Start – 1/2oz. every other feeding for firsts 3 weeks of life. If scouring, use every feeding.

  • Clean up wart or dig out abscess
